They Came to Take Them Away

As I was out a-walking I saw the truck that comes for the defunct Christmas trees.  It was filling fast.  The wreaths are getting packed away, the light strings wound up, and it just doesn't seem quite as festive out there as it was last week.  On the other hand, the temperature has finally, briefly, dipped below freezing, almost for the first time this incredibly warm winter.

As in many neighborhoods, we have a few fanatics.  I took this picture while driving home one night.  The camera didn't do the colors justice, but I sort of like the effect.
