Load Shedding Checklist

Is the Prius IMMEDIATELY available, i.e., either in the garage or the driveway?

NO:  It is critical to reduce the UPS battery load as much as possible RIGHT NOW to preserve battery power so that the UPS can operate until the Prius is available. 

YES:  Load should be reduced by disconnecting non-essential items such as incandescent lamps to reduce the amount of power required from the Prius.  Skip to the Prius Available heading.

Prius NOT available

• Turn off the 230V emergency-restart UPS
• Turn off all water faucets
• Turn off sprinklers
• Don't flush toilets
• Reduce thermostats to minimum in all areas
• Turn heat OFF in areas not expected to be used
• Refer to breaker list - turn off all lights in rooms affected

Prius Available

• Turn off all unneeded lights
• Reduce thermostats to minimum in areas not expected to be occupied
• Turn off sprinklers
