Selling Out

I never promised not to sell out.  It seems that everywhere you look, someone is trying to "monetize" the internet.  I have steadfastly kept my blog and the PriUPS site totally free of advertisements.  One reason is that I think internet advertising is silly, which is almost certainly wrongheaded, and about which I shall expound one of these days, just as soon as I've disposed of the airlines.  The other is that nobody has actually offered to give me money for advertising.  Possibly my few thousand millireaders are in the wrong demographic or perhaps are simply too few in number.

But today I am selling out.  I have found a worthy advertiser, and worked out a special deal with him.  In the interests of full disclosure, I'll explain how the deal works:

  • The advertiser pays me NOTHING unless he is successful.

  • The advertiser, if he IS successful, gives me 100% of the proceeds of his sales.

I feel it's a risk worth taking.

Special Advertising Section

Near the end of the last century, in the early 1990's, when gas was cheap and times were especially good, a certain blogger purchased a couple of sports cars.  They were fast, and they were blue.  One was a Corvette ZR1.  The other was a Mitsubishi 3000GT VR4.  That very same blogger, almost 20 years later, has decided that he no longer needs either car, since he and his housemate drive the Prius and the Ford Escape hybrid almost exclusively.  Our frugality is your fun!  Or it can be, if you decide to purchase either or both of these vehicles.
